Best Canadian Poetry

‘Bits of eternity, arranged alphabetically’

—Merilyn Simonds, Kingston-Whig Standard

I serve as series editor for Best Canadian Poetry, which annually features the 50 finest Canadian poems published in periodicals during the previous year, ushering readers into the heart of Canada’s vibrant poetry scene. Published by Biblioasis since 2018, BCP was founded by Tightrope Books and original series editor Molly Peacock in 2008. Each year, in consultation with the series editor, a distinguished guest editor selects the poems guided by their own particular literary and aesthetic concerns. This anthology is a must-read for anyone with a stake in contemporary Canadian literature, and for anyone with a curiosity about poetry and its engagement in the world today.

BCP guest editors: 2020, forthcoming, Marilyn Dumont; 2019, Rob Taylor; 2018, Hoa Nguyen;  2017, Best of the Best Canadian Poetry: Tenth Anniversary Edition, edited by Molly Peacock and Anita Lahey; 2016, Helen Humphreys; 2015, Jacob McArthur Mooney; 2014, Sonnet L’Abbé; 2013, Sue Goyette; 2012, Carmine Starnino; 2011, Priscila Uppal; 2010, Lorna Crozier; 2009, A.F.
